What is Full Coverage Auto Insurance?

Did you ever wonder what full coverage auto insurance means? Or if you have it? The team at Northeast Insurance Advisors LLC is here to help the residents of Easton, PA learn all about full coverage auto insurance.

There are many levels of auto insurance coverage and each state has different amounts and components that are required. However, what is required and what is sufficient coverage are almost always two very different things.

Full coverage auto insurance is a misleading term. It’s not actually a single coverage, but rather a combination of coverage components in a policy.  This combination of coverage means that you, your vehicle, any passengers in your vehicle, as well as any vehicles or people that you might get into a collision with are covered because of the types and amount of coverage that you carry.

When you hear the term full coverage, it is most likely referring to liability, comprehensive and collision coverage. If you have all three of these components in your insurance policy, you can consider yourself to have full coverage auto insurance.

  • Liability insurance pays for damages in the event that you are responsible for an accident.
  • Comprehensive insurance pays for damages incurred to your vehicle when it is not in an accident. For example, if someone damages it by breaking into your car or if it is damaged in a storm, flood, or fire.
  • Collision insurance pays for damage that happens to your vehicle when it is involved in an accident. This could be a collision with another vehicle or a single car accident, such as hitting a tree or a curb or guardrail.

The professionals at Northeast Insurance Advisors LLC serving Easton, PA are standing by to answer all of your questions about auto insurance.
